TAYLOR ARMERDING was a co-founder of the progressive bluegrass band Northern Lights in 1975. He spent the next 28 years as the band's front man, mandolin player, lead singer and chief songwriter. During those years, the band recorded nine albums and toured nationally and internationally, playing occasionally with the late fiddle legend Vassar Clements, bluegrass star Peter Rowan and folk/rock icon Jonathan Edwards. Three of his songs reached the Top Ten on the bluegrass chart, and one was nominated for Song of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. The band won a Boston Music Award for Best Country Artist in 1990.
Since 2001 he has fronted the Vermont-based Bluegrass Gospel Project, and plays occasionally with his son, singer-songwriter Jake Armerding. In 2008 he became part of the Jonathan Edwards trio, where he plays mandolin and sings high harmonies.
By day he is an editorial writer and columnist for The Eagle-Tribune, in North Andover, MA

Multi-instrumentalist CHARLIE ROSE started out as a youngster playing piano and trombone, but quickly became obsessed with the guitar. As a teenager, he studied Jazz and music theory and "learned to jam." His first year of college was spent studying music, but he ended up getting his degree in Geology. However, that didn't keep him from learning banjo, bass, and mandolin, and shortly after graduating he set out to get a job playing music.
Since then, he has worked with many great acts including the Asylum St. Spankers, Sarah Lee Guthrie and Johnny Irion, and the Crooked Jades.
Originally from Lawrence, KS, Charlie now makes his home in Boston.
